Mr. Lindall is absolutely amazing with the kids! We signed up for the black belt path shortly after starting and it's been one of our kiddos favorite after school activity! Great focus on discipline, integrity and hard work! Highly recommended.

We’ve had a great experience with kárate! The Sensei is amazing with kids, very patient, kind, and a great teacher. My daughter really enjoys her classes and is learning not only karate, but also discipline, respect, and confidence. We’re very happy with this place and would definitely recommend it!

About KarateMN

KarateMN trades under the name Fudoshin Martial Arts, and the school says it teaches self-defense, karate and taekwondo in Plymouth. Its website describes kids karate for ages 6 to 12 as the main program. The about page also names classes for teens and adults.

Scope of work at KarateMN

The school's name comes from a Japanese term it translates as immovable mind. Training, it says, aims at staying calm and steady under challenge, along with respect, self-control and steady effort. Students who want a black belt follow a structured program toward it.

Owner Matthew Lindahl began training in 1994 with his father and opened the school in 2023, the website states. He has taught since 2002.

How to start classes at KarateMN

The school holds classes on weekday afternoons and evenings and closes on weekends. A new student can begin with a free introductory class, which the website says lasts about 30 minutes. The school asks people to share contact details so it can set up a time.

Plymouth averages 46.2 degrees F over the year, with a mean high of 55.2 and a mean low of 37.2, per NOAA normals for 1991-2020. The same normals put the town at 7573 heating degree days and 745 cooling degree days.

What families report about KarateMN

KarateMN holds a 5.0 rating from 14 Google reviews. Reviewers most often credit the instructor's patience with children and the gains they see in focus, discipline and confidence. Several also mention small classes, punctual starts and a firm structure that suited a neurodivergent child.

Lindahl lists a fourth-degree black belt, earned in 2011.

KarateMN suits a child aged 6 to 12 who needs structured weekday karate, and a free introductory class is the first step.
